Yes, I saw that Jerry Miller has moved on and in reading about him anew finally realized what an incredible guitarist he actually was (Clapton once said Miller was the best guitarist in the U.S.).

I honestly don't know who might have influenced who, but Moby Grape, who to my knowledge did not "stretch out" into long solos live, sailed closer to pop than GD's almost jazz.
