Brilliant video, and I really hope that this ultrasound approach will pan out well — it’s like you said about psychedelics, once you’ve experienced the paradigm shift or the unsuspected calmness or equanimity, no matter how you arrived there, now you know, experientially, that it exists and that is the all-important issue I believe.
Talking about experiential, I’ve just come across Burgs, a meditation teacher who does teach from experience rather than from memorized theory or exegesis, like many others do. And in my view he’s the real deal. My only surprise is that I had not come across him earlier — after all, I’ve tracked down and read just about every book on Theravada meditation, especially Jhana; along with Chan and Zen and a fair amount of Tibetan approach added to the mix. I’m a Buddhist mutt in other words.
But, I’m with the Dalai Lama: if this ultrasonic approach does pan out, I’ll be first in line, jostling with him — though I must add, things are going very, very nicely on the cushion these days, so not a must anymore, I’d say.
As for the other 7.735 billion souls, it might be just what the doctor ordered. Might just save mankind from slow but certain suicide.
