Disentanglement — 10
The Bible of Letting Go
Molecule by
non-existent
molecule
then, from this image-free shore
now disentangle
from longing, this nebulous
thirst for something, some-thing
more than no-thing, some
sensation more than no
sensation — be it sex, food
feelings, words, gurus
thoughts, beauty, memories
or images
(you really don’t care)
as long as it can be
perceived (and possibly clothed
by you in beauty or some other
tangible property) whatever it is
as long as it’s more than
no-thing
A lost love, perhaps, or a
summer field, perhaps
a peace of mind, perhaps
a wishing for some-thing
perhaps long since gone
and no longer here, a
wishing for this to now
again, arrive and fill
your day
Some even long for longing
or thirst for thirsting
or hunger for hunger
or lust for lust
for these longings fuel
being alive — I long,
therefore: I am
sang Francine when
dreaming of her as yet
unfound lover
She told her dad this,
but he was too busy
thinking about thinking
to take note
Disentangling this
Gordian knot is near
impossible but even so
it is the tenth object
of disegoment —
sever all tendrils
let go all filaments
shed microscopic clingings
sail clear of these sirens
out and upon blue waters
into clean air strong winds
for distant longing-free shores
