Did you ever read Herman Hesse's "The Glass Bead Game?" (aka Magister Ludi) It ends with "Three Lives" (like appendices) one of which is the "Indian Life".

This Indian Llife is the most amazing illustration of Maya I have ever come across.

The reason I ask is that this is something that I, as a Buddhist and as a seeker of what the hell is going on here?, do on occasion to preserve sanity:

I look at the world as a very bad joke, as Maya going a little overboard which he/she/it is want to do on occasion (WW I and WW II, the Spanish Inquisition, and ditto Civil War would be good examples; Chairman Mao another).

I agree, things are frigging messed up beyond belief and sometimes the only way to catch your next breath is to see the joke (bad as it is) of it all, the illusion, the amazingly detailed "got ya!" of it all.

Also, meditation offers me daily respite 😎
